This year, we are celebrating Juneteenth together as we walk through the Black Stations of the Cross. We will meet from 4-6pm before having dinner together. We hope you join us for this special celebration!

Felton Foushee was born and raised in Greensboro, NC. A proud graduate of James B. Dudley High School. He holds a B.A. in Media Studies from UNC Greensboro, an M.A. in history from North Carolina Central University, and is presently in candidacy for Ph.D. in history at UNCG.

Felton serves as the Racial Equity Engagement Officer for the RELC (Racial Equity Learning Community) of Rockingham County. He is also the Site Manager at the Museum of the Cape Fear. Felton believes the only clear way forward is to look back and grow from better understanding our collective history.

“Black Americans, those who descend from the institution of slavery, must be viewed as a unique group. Their American experience cannot be stepped into and absorbed, nor should it be made into a hollowed out symbolic thing. The Black American experience has brought this country closer to what it claimed to be at its inception, and yet Black Americans have not been repaired in the process.”

Steve Swayne is the Director of St. Francis Springs Prayer Center. Throughout life, he has traversed the for-profit and nonprofit sectors. He is passionate about racial justice and contemplative prayer.
