SFSPC Silent Retreat

SFSPC Silent Retreat: “Psalms and The Life of Faith”

We hope you join us for our annual Silent Retreat with Fr. Steven Patti OFM, as we meditate on the psalms. The psalms give voice to the human experience in all of its complexity: praise, lament, grief, exile, loss, wonder. The psalms invite us to enter in these worlds, so that what is expressed in them can also be expressed in our own prayer. In these days of silent retreat, we will spend time each day on a psalm, looking at what it says, its background, allowing the words expressed there to speak to us in our own lives.

You do not have to have any background in the psalms to participate in this retreat. Each morning we will have a short reflection on a psalm, and the rest of the day will be free. This will be a silent retreat, and so other than the presentations, the rest of our time, including meals, will be in silence. Daily mass (optional) will be offered Monday-Thursday.

Fr. Steve Patti, OFM. Fr. Steve is a Franciscan friar currently serving as pastor of St. Peter Claver Catholic Church in Macon, GA. He has served in parishes along the East Coast, and at St. Francis Inn, a Franciscan soup kitchen in Philadelphia. He has a Masters in Divinity from the Washington Theological Union, 2001.
